What the count means
32S is the yarn number in the cotton count system, where a higher number means a finer yarn, and 2 Ply means two single yarns are twisted together to make the finished thread. At about 37 tex, 32S 2 Ply is a fine count.
What a fine count is for
A fine thread holds detail. It is the right choice when the design has small counters in a letter, fine monogram strokes, delicate borders or motifs drawn at a small scale, and the wrong choice when the stitch has to build coverage quickly. If your design needs coverage rather than detail, our 16S 2 Ply cotton acrylic thread is the heavier option.
